The East Coast, Troegs, and a trip across the country.

Here's just a bit of personal advice.
...this one is for free.

When driving across the country, a good way to set goals and survive the long days are to visit places such as parks, attractions, monuments, or whatever strikes your fancy.

I visit breweries.

On this trip I was able to hit two.- I know. That's not a lot, but to be fair, many breweries are not open first thing in the morning and I was on a schedule.

Troegs Brewery- Hershey, PA- about 10 minutes south of I-76
I was able to enjoy an expanded taster tray of 7 beers. They also have food, which you can order and then return to drinking, I mean tasting, the beer. This is a big brewery but the staff was also able to be personable and answer questions. Yes, they were able to geek out with me...

Confluence Brewing- Des Moines, IA- about 5 minutes south of I-235
I was really impressed. Great beer. Great atmosphere. It sits at the confluence of rivers, a lake and the bike path. I will be back on my bike!
The Oktoberfest was really easy drinking and they were also experimenting with aging some beers. The Des Moines IPA was solid and very well balanced.
